We bring training directly to you. For more than 15 years, our instructors have traveled to homes, schools, daycare centers, and childcare organizations across the tri-state area, making lifesaving education accessible, practical, and relevant to everyday environments.

Our instructors are certified by the American Heart Association, and our courses follow the latest American Heart Association 2025 guidelines. Whether you are learning CPR for the first time or refreshing your skills, you can trust our experienced team to provide clear guidance, hands on instruction, and the confidence that comes from learning with people who care deeply about keeping their community safe.

Amelia Hazel
Owner & Lead Instructor

Ameliaʼs story is rooted in service, calm under pressure, and a lifelong commitment to protecting others. After retiring as a New York State Certified Paramedic, Amelia brings over two decades of real-world experience in pre-hospital emergency care to everything she teaches today. She began her career as a First Responder with her local volunteer ambulance service, where she quickly discovered both the responsibility and privilege of being the person others rely on during their most critical moments.

Driven by that calling, Amelia became a New York State Certified Emergency Medical Technician and soon after advanced to Paramedic certification through a rigorous program in New York City. Throughout her career, she served on the NYC 911 system, providing pre-hospital emergency medical care in fast-paced, high-stakes environments that demanded skill, judgment, and compassion.

Alongside her clinical training, Amelia earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice, strengthening her understanding of public service, crisis response, and community safety. This blend of education and frontline experience shapes her thoughtful, composed approach to emergency care and instruction.

Today, Amelia is a certified American Heart Association CPR, AED, and First Aid Instructor. She provides certification courses in Heartsaver Adult, Child, and Infant CPR/AED, First Aid, and Basic Life Support (BLS), as well as the non-certifying Family and Friends program. Her instruction is grounded in real experience, clear communication, and an understanding of what people truly need to feel confident in an emergency.

As part of the Baby Be Safe team, Amelia joins fellow instructors who are all trained and certified through the American Heart Association. Together, they share a common purpose: empowering individuals, families, and communities with the skills and confidence to save a life when it matters most.

Kevin Hazel
Senior Instructor

Kevinʼs path into lifesaving education has always been driven by consistency, responsibility, and a commitment to staying ahead in an ever-evolving field. He began teaching CPR and First Aid in 2011, drawn to the idea that knowledge, when shared well, can change outcomes long before emergency services arrive. From the start, Kevin understood that effective instruction requires more than memorizing protocols. It requires staying current, practicing continuously, and treating education as a responsibility rather than a one-time achievement.

That philosophy defines his career. Kevin earned his EMT certification in 2015, further grounding his instruction in hands-on emergency response experience. He has consistently prioritized ongoing education and recertification, including his most recent renewal in 2020, reflecting his belief that staying current with guidelines and best practices is essential to keeping people safe. In a field where standards evolve, Kevin remains proactive, informed, and prepared.

Kevin joined Baby Be Safe in 2013, bringing with him years of instructional experience and an entrepreneurial foundation in CPR education that helped shape and strengthen the programʼs reach. His long-standing role within the organization is a key part of Baby Be Safeʼs 15+ years of trusted service to the community.

Over the years, Kevin has taught across multiple CPR training organizations, gaining broad perspective and adaptability in working with diverse audiences, environments, and learning needs. His teaching style is practical, calm, and rooted in real-world application, helping students feel capable rather than overwhelmed.

In addition to his instructional work, Kevin is a Staten Island Heart Society Instructor and has supported community initiatives focused on increasing access to AEDs throughout the city. His involvement reflects a deeper commitment to public health beyond the classroom, ensuring lifesaving tools are available where they are needed most.

Kevin is a certified American Heart Association CPR, AED, and First Aid Instructor and a valued member of the Baby Be Safe team. He shares the same mission of providing individulas with the skills, confidence, and readiness to save a life.
